Zachary Deaton

The National Association of Flight Instructors is proud to announce that NAFI member Zachary Deaton has earned accreditation as a NAFI Master Flight Instructor.

A third-generation pilot, Deaton follows in the footsteps of his father and grandparents, all private pilots. Before pursuing a career in aviation, he earned a degree in business and marketing education and worked in several fields, including teaching. He also served 13 years as a tank commander in the U.S. Army National Guard.

A Gold Seal flight instructor with 2,700 hours of dual instruction given, Deaton particularly enjoys teaching private pilot students.

“For many, earning a private pilot certificate is one of the most challenging things they have ever accomplished,” he said. “I enjoy watching them grow as individuals as they rise to that challenge and achieve their goals.”
