Matthew Speare

The National Association of Flight Instructors is proud to announce that NAFI member Matthew Speare has earned accreditation as a NAFI Master Flight Instructor. This is Speare’s second NAFI Master Flight Instructor accreditation.

Speare is a CFI/CFII and instructs in both airplanes and rotary wing aircraft. He is a retired U.S. Army attack helicopter pilot, and president of the Lancair Owners and Builders Organization, specializing in high-performance and experimental aircraft. Speare is known for his expertise and mentorship, promoting standardized training, safety, proficiency, and community support for builders and owners. In his spare time, Speare serves as chief operating officer of a bank and struggles on the golf course as a frustrated golfer.
