Mark Boguski

The National Association of Flight Instructors is proud to announce that NAFI member Mark Boguski has earned accreditation as a NAFI Master Flight Instructor.
Boguski earned his private pilot certificate in 1977. After a career in the aerospace industry, he became a full-time flight instructor in 2016. He is a 4,100-hour commercial pilot with SEL and MEL ratings and is a CFI/ CFII/ MEI with 2,300 hours of dual given. He is also an AGI-I. Boguski was named a 2025 AOPA distinguished flight instructor.
In addition to flight instruction in Olathe, Kansas, Boguski is an aviation instructor at Johnson County Community College, presents Rusty Pilot seminars for AOPA, and writes for various aviation publications. He is an FAA Safety Team representative for the Kansas City FSDO and volunteer Young Eagles pilot. Outside of aviation, Mark is obsessed with climbing mountains and long-distance backpacking, recently completing the Appalachian Trail.
